When your idea for a mod for your Mini leads you on a 4-day bender of heavily researching fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, vacuum theory, swirl patterns, the Venturi Effect, and the theory behind Helmholtz resonators.
Dammit Jim, I’m a pizza delivery driver, not a physicist!

Look, as an engineer, I can help, but I have to bill hours.

You can’t just say that and not tell us what the mod idea is.

Short answer, they do nothing.
I hope you find what you're looking for.

Lol. You must think delivering pizzas pays way better than it does, haha.

I saw the Mythbuster video on those.
Don’t worry, I’m not falling for any of the aftermarket bullshit. In FACT, this idea came about while I was busy DISPROVING an aftermarket product.
I was like “No-no-no! It doesn’t work! It actually makes things worse because [Insert paragraphs of science]! In order to actually make something like that work you’d have t- ....wait a minute....what if...hey, listen, I gotta go find a pen and some paper. Don’t buy those things.”

The super duper ultra simple version:
A cold air intake...
For my cold air intake.

To be fair, it does pay well for what it is.

True. Currently I make $7.25p/hr while in the store. When assigned to a delivery and in my car, I make $6.25p/hr, plus $1.50 per delivery, plus tips.

I make $8.10/hr in the store and $5/hr on the road. We get $0.24/mile instead of being paid per-delivery. Those numbers aren’t great, but tips generally more than make up for that.

So a snorkel intake that doesn't submerge.
